Thank you for choosing Main Street Musicking to pursue your dreams of playing an instrument!
Tuition and Fees
Music lessons can be paid for by semester or by month.
Payment is due at the first lesson of each month or semester, and is payable by check or credit card (via this website). All payments are due before the 10th of the month, after which time a $10 late fee will be added to the cost of lessons.
30 minute lessons $150/month or $715/semester
45 minute lessons $225/month or $1090/semester
60 minute lessons $300/month or $1430/semester
These rates are flat fees to reserve a weekly time for lessons. Fees are charged by the month, and are not lowered nor refunded for missed lessons. There is a discount if you would like to enroll three or more of your children. There are no make-up lessons. There is an "exchange list" for students who wish to exchange lesson times with other students. Teacher absences will be communicated in a timely fashion and lessons will be rescheduled to a mutually acceptable time or a refund will be provided.
Students are responsible to buy selected books and materials for classes.
Attendance and house rules
All students are requested to attend weekly lessons with prepared materials and to take part in our studio performances throughout the year. Students and families may enter our house without knocking during lesson hours. Time spent with each student is valuable, so please respect the need for quiet, uninterrupted interaction between the teacher and student. Please wash your hands before and after each lesson. Soap is provided in the washroom, first door on the right in the hallway to your left. Please help keep everyone at our studio healthy!
Piano or Guitar in the Home
Every student should already have a piano or guitar in their home before beginning to take lessons. Piano rentals are available through Jacobs Music in Allentown for as little as $59 month – see www.jacobsmusic.com for more information. Pianos are also available for purchase. Families are always selling or even giving away pianos and guitars- check your local paper or websites. If you find an instrument this way, please be sure to have a piano or guitar technician look at the instrument before you purchase or move it into your home.
Daily practice is beneficial to each student and an assignment will be given each week in the student's notebook. Please bring a 3 ring binder for assignments, special music, and/or worksheets that we may add to our repertoire. Teachers will discuss during lessons how much practice time that the student and teacher think is appropriate for each week. Our goal in each lesson is to introduce new musical concepts while allowing each student to express his or herself using creative methods. Songs will be assigned or created for each new musical concept for the student to practice and apply.
Termination of Lessons
If a student and/or parent should decide to terminate lessons at any given time during the year, the studio requires a two-week written notice, during which time all fees will remain in effect.
Thank you again for choosing us to help you achieve your music goals! Please feel free to contact us with any comments, questions, or concerns that you may have. We look forward to musicking with you :)
